　　The biggest web-tech contest in Japan now lands in Silicon Valley!
The 7th Mashup Awards (MA7) opens their door to the local startups and developers to present their services and products. We call the event the "Ninja Challenge."

　At the event, up to 10 startups interested in the Japanese market will be presenting in front of the industry experts in the market to get professional advice. The event also includes some keynote speeches by Evernote, Qualcomm, and RECRUIT.

The event is absolutely free and includes drinks and food also!

Event Summary

　At this event, the developers in the US ( included CTOs in startup companies or engineers who are interested in the Japanese market/ Asian market) will give a presentation (pitch) about their products, services or technologies they have developed.

　
　In contrast, for the companies which participate in MA7, the experts who are familiar to the Japanese/Asian markets will participate in this event. Expert advisors will give advice through Q&A of each participant and discuss about how to expand  as well as support the product's growth into the Japanese market . Also, this event becomes a great place to meet developers and partners in Japan.

　Each service that applies to MA7 should be a real product or service. On October 19th, the best product or service of the Ninja Challenge can move to the 2nd Round Mashup Battle which then determines the final prizes and eventual winner of MA7.

What is MA7 (Mashup Awards) ?

　　　MA7 (Mashup Awards) is one of the biggest web application contests in Japan. 

　A lot of web developers have ideas to change the future of the web. Through the web or smart phone Apps they develop, this is the contest that they can compete for the use of their new technologies, designs, and ideas. 

　The basic principle of the Mashup Awards was "to develop the IT industry as a whole as well as create new Web service companies and developers." It was started in 2006 for the purpose of the improvement of the "Quality of Developer’s Life" and the growth of Web services. At MA6, last year, 544 products were entered which was the largest ever.
 

　As the participating companies that offered API from outside Japan increases, then MA7 can encourage these products from overseas to apply for this event to enter the Japanese market.

  Therefore, the first event, MA7 Ninja Challenge Palo Alto, will be held in Palo Alto, California.
